Ordering from Marks & Spencer abroad: countries, delivery, duties, returns and cashback

· 2026-10-15

Marks & Spencer is best known as a British department store, but its website ships to many other countries through an international store. That store has its own delivery fee, its own return rules and a longer list of things it will not send abroad. We read the help pages of the German-language store at marksandspencer.com/de in October 2026 and picked out what matters to anyone ordering outside the UK. The pages are written for the German store, so figures for other countries can differ; the country selector shows the one that applies to you.

Choosing your country

When you open the international store you are asked which country or region you want to ship to and which language you want. The list we saw has more than 60 destinations and shows the currency next to each: for example euro for Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands, Swiss francs for Switzerland, Danish kroner for Denmark, zloty for Poland, US dollars for the United States and pounds for the United Kingdom. In the shop you can also change the currency in the top right corner, for example to GBP, CAD, USD or EUR.

Delivery cost and time

Standard delivery in the German store costs 4.99 euros and takes 2 to 3 working days. Orders above 50 euros are delivered free. During holidays and peak shopping periods it can take longer. The store does not deliver to a P.O. box. An order arrives in one shipment but may come in several parcels, depending on what is in stock. Products from outside brands such as Jack & Jones, Nobody's Child, Sloggi and Triumph ship from another warehouse and arrive in a separate parcel.

There are also things the international store does not send. The help pages say that beauty products, flowers and wine cannot be shipped internationally because of legal, logistical and licensing limits, and that toys and books are not offered because of licensing. Some items on the British site, such as selected food, furniture, electronics and household goods, are for British customers only. If you want to send a gift to the UK, the help pages tell you to order on the British website.

Duties and taxes

The help pages say that no customs duties or taxes are charged on goods bought from the European Union. If the carrier contacts you and asks for an additional payment, the store advises you not to pay directly and to contact customer service instead. Orders of high value that are cleared in Frankfurt need a power-of-attorney form before delivery, and the carrier contacts you for that. The pages do not describe duties for destinations outside the EU, so check with customer service before ordering to the US or Switzerland.

Returns

You can send back unused items within 28 days of receiving the order. Items must be unworn and unused with all labels, multipacks go back together, and items with a hygiene seal must keep it intact. Earrings for pierced ears, opened bedding and face masks are not taken back. A free gift item from an offer has to be returned as well. Customers in EU countries also have the legal right to withdraw within 14 days, which is handled through the help centre of the payment partner Global-e.

Use the return label that came with the parcel and hand the package to a Hermes PaketShop. A return fee of 4.99 euros is deducted from the refund. Processing can take up to 14 working days after you have dropped off the parcel. The refund goes to the payment method used for the purchase. The store does not offer exchanges, so you return the item and place a new order.

Using cashback

Our programme for this store is the Marks & Spencer page at daily cashback, a page in German. It shows the current rate (up to 2%), the offers we found and the date of the last check. Press the shop button, then order as usual. The cashback appears as open in your free account and is confirmed once the store has reported the order. A returned item reduces the amount.

Tips

  • Cancelling is only possible in the first 30 minutes after purchase, so check size, colour and address before you pay.
  • Do not pay a surprise request from a carrier directly. Contact customer service first.
  • Gift cards from the British website do not work in the international store.
