Marley Spoon vs HelloFresh: Which Meal Kit Is Better?

Marley Spoon vs HelloFresh: Which Meal Kit Is Better? It depends on how tightly you like to plan your week. We point to Marley Spoon: its deadlines are spelled out in the terms, the shipping fee is stated openly, and it has a shop page with cashback at daily cashback. Status October 2026. Offers change at both companies, and each site shows the final amount at checkout. This guide is for readers in Germany and Austria.

Where cashback is available

For Marley Spoon we run a shop page of its own. The rate valid today sits on it, and your order begins there. We do not list HelloFresh. If you order there, you pay the same price as always and get no cashback from us.

How an order with cashback works

Open the shop page, pause your ad blocker and finish the order without leaving the tab. An open entry then appears in your free account. It becomes confirmed once the retailer has checked the order. Whether later deliveries of your subscription count is explained in the terms on the shop page, so read them before you plan on repeat boxes.

Voucher codes and cashback

Marley Spoon advertises up to €108 discount on your first 12 boxes on its home page. Our voucher page covers it. A voucher code lowers the amount your cashback is based on, and the shop page works through an example. HelloFresh itself promotes up to €120 discount plus free goodies for two months.

Delivery and shipping

Marley Spoon delivers to Germany and Austria from a logistics centre in the Netherlands. Its help centre puts shipping at €6.99 per box. Ice packs and insulated bags keep the food cold, and refrigerated vans take over on longer routes. HelloFresh delivers across Germany from Monday to Saturday in day windows, or for a surcharge in windows of up to four hours. Its shipping cost appears at checkout. You can follow the parcel, give a drop-off permission or have the box sent to your workplace.

Pausing, skipping and cancelling

At Marley Spoon you can skip, pause or end the subscription up to 6 days before delivery. For a Wednesday delivery, the Thursday before is the last chance. The rhythm can be set to every 2, 3 or 4 weeks. HelloFresh says you can pause or cancel weekly, with the deadlines in section 5 of its terms. According to the company, cancelling the flexible subscription also ends any discounts and rewards.

Payment

Marley Spoon accepts credit cards, PayPal and Google Pay and charges the box 5 days before delivery. HelloFresh lists its payment methods on a separate page and at checkout.

Who should pick what

If you want firm rules, Marley Spoon suits you: six days of notice, a stated shipping fee and a rhythm you can stretch. The Markt adds breakfast, snacks and ready meals to the same box.

If you want choice, look at HelloFresh. It names more than 60 recipes a week and lets you change delivery day and time week by week. Students, seniors and key workers have their own discount routes.

If you only want to try, take the new customer offer, but work out first what the second and third box cost without it.

Our pick

For most people Marley Spoon is the better first choice, because cashback, voucher page and deadlines can all be looked up in one place. HelloFresh is a fair alternative when recipe choice matters more than cashback. Which box costs less per month shows only when you compare final amounts for the same number of people and meals.
