GameFly: how rentals ship, the free trial and cancelling
GameFly is a US rental service for console games and movies. Instead of buying a disc you build a list, receive titles by mail and send them back in a prepaid mailer. Because the whole service runs through the US postal system, this guide looks at what matters before you join: where discs travel, how the free trial turns into a paid plan, how to cancel, what members get and how cashback fits in.
Where GameFly delivers
The shop describes delivery by US Postal Service First-Class Mail with a USPS estimate of 2 to 8 business days anywhere in the U.S. Games and movies ship from a warehouse in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The site does not describe a rental service for other countries, so if you live outside the US, ask GameFly support before you start a trial. Delays with the courier service are announced on the site from time to time.
Shipping is included
Rentals travel in a reusable mailer with free shipping both ways, and there are no late fees, so you keep a game as long as you like while your plan runs. When your Q is full, GameFly typically matches and ships within a day or so. The first rental should arrive within 3 to 5 business days after the first title ships. Keeping at least 5 currently released titles in your Q helps, because popular games are not always available at once.
Free trial, plans and cancelling
The 30-day free trial covers the 1-Game Plan. A valid credit or debit card is required for every membership. At sign-up a temporary authorization is placed on the card; no money is taken, and the bank removes it in 3 to 5 business days. When the trial ends, the free trial turns into a paid subscription at $19.95 per month for the 1-Game Plan, plus any sales tax. Plans are billed monthly, you can cancel or restart at any time, and if you do not want to pay, cancel before the trial ends. A 2-Game Plan is available as an upgrade.

Keeping a game and member rewards
Most rented games can be bought at a discounted price, called a Keep, which arrives with the original case and codes and free shipping. Members also get a discount on Keeps and used game purchases, monthly discount coupons for accessories and collectibles, 5 GameFly Dollars every 3 months and a Keep discount coupon every 6 months. Movies on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD are part of all game plans, and there are movie-only plans too. GameLock lets Standard plans reserve a new release 30 days ahead, Elite plans 7 days ahead, with shipment promised on release day.
Using cashback
Open the GameFly page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to $2.5) is shown. Press the shop button, then sign up or buy as you normally would. In your free account the cashback first shows as open and becomes confirmed once GameFly has reported the order. A refunded order is deducted again. Use only offers from that page, because a code from another site can cost you the cashback.
