Tyres.ie: how the comparison works, delivery by seller and cancelling
Tyres.ie is a price comparison platform for tyres, rims, oils and car accessories on the Irish market. It lists offers from many retailers, and some of them can be ordered directly on the site. Because the retailer differs from offer to offer, the rules for delivery and payment depend on who sells the item you pick. Here is how it works.
Finding and comparing offers
Tyres.ie has a tyre selector where you pick width, height and diameter. The button for more options opens extra filters, and a search takes you to a results page that you can filter by price, brand, seller, test reviews and price category. Rims, oils and lubricants and accessories each have their own selector. If you are unsure, the comparison button next to a product image lets you put several products side by side.
Two ways to buy
Once you have chosen a product, you either click through to the seller's website and order there, or you press Add to cart and order directly on Tyres.ie, when the retailer is part of its marketplace. After you have placed the order, you deal with the retailer. Questions about the order go to the supplier, and the shop information, contact and payment details are listed in the offer and in your confirmation email.
Delivery
Every shop on the platform has its own delivery options, so the delivery cost and time depend on the seller. You can see them on the product detail page. If you order on Tyres.ie, the seller's payment and delivery policy is available from your cart, and if you click through to a partner site, you find it in the top or bottom menu there. Tyres.ie states that it does not carry the transport risk, the retailer is responsible for everything related to the order, including delivery problems.

Payment
The payment methods differ by seller and appear next to each offer. When you buy straight on Tyres.ie, the checkout offers several: bank transfer, credit card and PayPal or another online payment service. With a bank transfer, the order is processed only after the payment has been confirmed. With a card, you are redirected to the seller's payment page and then return to the Tyres.ie thank you page. With PayPal, finish the payment from the Tyres.ie page rather than from PayPal's own site, otherwise it cannot be linked to your order.
Cancellation and returns
For orders placed on Tyres.ie, the terms give you fourteen days to cancel without giving a reason. The period starts when you or a person you name takes possession of the goods, and with partial shipments it starts when the last part arrives. Tell the operator, TyresNET GmbH in Munich, clearly by letter or email. The refund follows within fourteen days after the notice arrives, including the delivery charges apart from extras for a non-standard delivery. It goes back by the payment method you used. The terms say that the platform bears the cost of returning the goods. You only pay compensation if the goods lost value through handling beyond a normal check.
Order tracking
After you order, you land on a thank you page and receive a confirmation email with an 8 digit order number. With it you can follow the status, the payment date, the delivery company and the tracking number through the tracking form.
Cashback
Open the Tyres.ie page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to 1.25%) and the offers we check every day are listed. Press the shop button there, then shop and pay as you normally would. In your free account the cashback shows as open and becomes confirmed once Tyres.ie has reported the order. A returned order is deducted from the amount. Take only the offers shown on that page, because a code from another site can cost you the cashback.
