ABBE Glasses: worldwide shipping, production time and the 30-day return
ABBE Glasses is an online shop for eyeglasses, sunglasses, goggles and lenses, with prescriptions filled in partner laboratories. Because every pair is made to order, the delivery time has two parts: production and shipping. This guide puts both together, adds the costs for the US and for international orders, and explains how returns work.
Production time before dispatch
The shipping page lists how long a pair needs in the lab before it leaves. Frames without prescription take 1 to 2 business days, single vision lenses 2 to 3 business days. Progressive, bifocal, blue light, sun tint, driving night and safety lenses take 3 to 5 business days, and photochromic lenses 5 to 7 business days.
Shipping rates and delivery time
| Destination and method | Shipping cost | Delivery after processing |
|---|---|---|
| US, USPS, orders over 69 $ | Free shipping | 7 to 10 business days |
| US, USPS | 5.95 $ shipping | 7 to 10 business days |
| US, FedEx, UPS or DHL | 19.95 $ shipping | 3 to 5 business days |
| International, First Class | 9.95 $ shipping | 10 to 15 business days |
| International, Worldwide Expedited | 24.95 $ shipping | 5 to 7 business days |
The shop sums it up as delivery within 7 to 15 business days, depending on the prescription and the chosen package. Outside the continental United States the times can change. Every order carries a tracking number.
Customs, tax and delivery limits
For orders outside the US the shop warns that some countries charge import tax, and it names an example of European countries that ask for a customs form. Express packages cannot go to military bases and some islands, and express couriers do not deliver to PO boxes, so enter a street address. If a package is delayed by weather, customs or strikes, the shop says it refunds the shipping charge, if there is any.
The 30-day return
You have 30 days from receiving your glasses to contact customer service for a return authorisation. Please contact them before you send anything back. You can choose between a one-time 100 percent store credit and a 50 percent refund to the original payment account, both excluding shipping. Unused accessories qualify for a full store credit or refund. Refunds are processed within 3 business days after the shop receives the return, and a card or PayPal refund takes another 2 to 7 business days or more. If the glasses break on arrival or the order does not match what you chose, the shop replaces the pair and asks for photos with your order number.
Exchanges are possible once per item. In an exchange only the frame is refunded and lenses are not, and the delivery of the new pair is charged at the normal rates.
Payment
ABBE Glasses accepts PayPal, major credit cards such as Visa, Mastercard, AMEX and JCB, and its own store credit. It does not work with insurance companies but supplies an invoice copy you can submit yourself.
Cashback with daily cashback
Open the ABBE Glasses page at daily cashback, where current offers are listed and checked every day. Press the shop button and order as usual. Your cashback (up to 6%) first shows as open in your free account and turns confirmed once ABBE Glasses has reported the order. If you return a pair, the cashback for it is deducted, and store credit orders follow the same rule.
Tips
- Measure the frame size of your old glasses and check your pupillary distance before ordering, because a cash refund is 50 percent and excludes shipping.
- Keep a copy of your prescription; the shop asks for it when something feels wrong.
- Keep other cashback or voucher tabs closed while you shop, because a later click can replace the first one.
