Buying from Tenergy: shipping options, international orders, 30-day returns and cashback
Tenergy sells rechargeable batteries, battery packs and chargers from California. Batteries make shipping more complicated than usual, because some lithium products count as hazardous goods and bring extra charges. This guide goes through the shipping and returns pages of the Tenergy shop at power.tenergy.com so you know what to expect before you pay.
Processing time and delivery options
Order processing takes 1 to 2 business days. Orders placed after 8:00 AM Pacific time start processing on the next business day, and Friday or holiday orders continue on the next business day. First-time purchases may be checked by phone, which adds one business day. Processing and shipping are separate, so add the shipping time on top.
These shipping times are listed:
- USPS First Class (under 13 oz): 1 to 3 business days, up to 5 days for Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico
- USPS Parcel Ground: 5 to 10 business days
- UPS or FedEx Ground: 1 to 5 business days
- UPS 3 Day Select, 2nd Day Air and Next Day Air: 3 days, 2 days and next day
Free ground shipping
Orders over $50 qualify for free ground shipping, as long as the address is in the lower 48 states of the US. The shop picks the most economical carrier, so it may be UPS or USPS, and delivery can take up to 10 business days. The shipping credit is capped at a maximum of $25. It does not apply to Hawaii or Alaska, oversized or freight orders, second-day or next-day shipping, or orders that need Class 9 or hazmat handling.
Lithium batteries and Class 9 charges
Some lithium batteries are shipped as Class 9 hazardous goods under US transport rules. The shop charges $50 per package for Class 9 handling on top of normal shipping. Class 9 air shipping adds $51.50 per box within the US and $81.00 per box abroad, and Class 9 ground adds $40 per box. This applies when an order has more than one lithium battery and an express method such as 2nd Day Air or overnight is chosen. USPS does not offer Class 9, so such orders move to UPS or FedEx, and the shop suggests adding 1 to 3 business days as a buffer.
Ordering from outside the US
The shipping page has a section on international orders. Transit times given are 2 to 5 business days for UPS Expedited, 1 to 3 business days for UPS Express and up to 7 business days for USPS International Priority. Import duties, taxes and charges are not part of the item price or the shipping cost and are your responsibility, so ask your country's customs office what to expect. If your country is not listed at checkout, contact the support team for a shipping estimate.

Returns
You may return a purchase within 30 days of the purchase date. Start in your account by clicking Return next to the order, or contact the shop by phone or live chat to get an RMA number. Pack the item with the RMA printout and send it to the Fremont, California return address. Return shipping is paid by you, and the shop recommends an insured ground service with tracking. Items must be new, in the original box with all packing material, manuals and accessories. If not, the shop can refuse the return or charge a minimum 15% restocking fee. Refunds for orders that shipped free are subject to retroactive shipping charges. Non-rechargeable batteries such as alkaline, lithium and button cells cannot be returned.
Made-to-order AT or assembly packs follow other rules: a cancellation or return carries a 30% restocking fee, and the packs come with a 90-day warranty.
Using cashback
Open the Tenergy page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to 4%) and the offers are listed with the date of the last check. Press the shop button, then shop and pay as you normally would. In your free account the cashback shows as open and turns confirmed once Tenergy has reported the order. A returned item is deducted again.
Practical tips
- Check the product title for DGR before you pick an express method. Such orders stay on hold until the extra charge is paid.
- Keep other cashback and voucher sites closed while you shop. A later click can replace the first one, and a code from another site can cost you the cashback.
