Using Amberscript: pricing, cancellation, refunds and cashback
Amberscript turns speech into text. You upload an audio or video file, and either software or a human transcriber returns a transcript or subtitles. Because it is a service and not a shop, nothing is shipped. What matters instead is how long the work takes, what the plans cost, when you can cancel and when you can get money back.
Machine-made or human-made
The machine-made service is 90 percent accurate according to Amberscript, supports more than 90 languages and is ready within minutes. The pricing FAQ says an automatic transcript is generated in roughly 15 minutes. The human-made service reaches over 99 percent accuracy, covers 18 or more languages and is ready within 5 days, or in 1 business day with a rush order that costs extra. New users get a free trial of 10 minutes of machine transcription, and no payment details are needed for it.
What the plans cost
Machine-made plans come as monthly or yearly subscriptions, or as one-off credits. In the monthly plans, Starter is €19 for 5 hours, Pro €29 for 10 hours and Power €49 for 25 hours, billed every month and cancellable at any time. Yearly subscriptions are advertised with a 17 percent saving: Starter €190 for 60 hours, Pro €290 for 120 hours and Power €490 for 300 hours. Credits cost €10 per hour for a single hour, and the page shows a discount of 10 percent for 5 hours, 25 percent for 20 hours and 40 percent from 50 hours.
Human-made transcription starts at €1.85 per minute and subtitles at €4.40 per minute, and translated subtitles are priced on request, so you ask for a quote first. The price you see after choosing your options is the all-in price, so multiple speakers or poor audio quality do not add extra charges. For more than 100 hours the shop offers a special price, and businesses can ask for an invoice.

Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel a subscription at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal, while the period you have already paid for keeps running. Amberscript does not refund a paid period, so a monthly plan is always billed for at least one month and a yearly plan for twelve. Unused hours do not carry over to the next month, and credits are valid for 12 months from purchase. The pricing page FAQ names 60 days for activating a purchase, while the terms say 12 months for credits, so check the figure shown at checkout.
The terms say refunds are not given because of dissatisfaction with a machine transcript, since the free trial is meant to let you test the quality. If there is a technical problem, the team tries to fix it or compensate the lost time. For human transcripts a revision is done within 5 business days, and refunds are decided case by case afterwards.
Payment, invoices and data
Payments go through Stripe, and the accepted methods are credit card, PayPal, iDEAL, Klarna and Link. Invoices appear in your account, and VAT questions go to the sales team. Files are stored on EU servers and the company states ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certification. NDA and DPA agreements are available.
Cashback at Amberscript
Open the Amberscript page at daily cashback, where the current rate (7.5%) is shown together with the offers we check every day. Press the shop button and then sign up and order as usual. The cashback appears as open in your free account and is confirmed once Amberscript has reported the order. If a purchase is refunded, the cashback for it is deducted.
Tips before you buy
- Use the free 10 minutes on a real file first, with the language you need.
- Pick monthly if you are unsure. A yearly plan cannot be refunded after renewal.
- Set a reminder before the renewal date, because forgetting to cancel is not refunded.
- Do not mix in a code from another site, as it can replace the cashback click.
