UserTrail: plans, free account, refund policy and cashback

· 2026-09-29

UserTrail is a website behaviour analytics tool from the UK. It combines heatmaps, session replay, funnels, journeys, form analytics and surveys, so you can see where visitors click, scroll and drop off. It is software as a service, which means nothing is shipped and there is no delivery address. What matters instead is which plan fits your traffic, what the trial includes and how the refund works.

Free account and trial

You can start with a free account that needs no credit card. The Free forever plan includes 500 sessions per month, 1 website and a 5-minute maximum session length, with data kept for 1 month. The paid plans come with a 14-day free trial. During the trial you get access to paid plan features: heatmaps, session replays, funnels, surveys, form analytics, journeys, team access and permissions. When the trial ends you can upgrade from the dashboard or continue on the Free forever plan with limited features.

Plans and what they include

The pricing page lists Basic with 10,000 sessions for $39 a month billed yearly, Standard with 50,000 sessions for $78 and Professional with 100,000 sessions for $117 on the same terms. The plans differ in these limits:

  • Websites: 1 on Free, 3 on Basic, 10 on Standard, 25 on Professional
  • Maximum session length: 5, 10, 20 and 30 minutes
  • Data retention: 1, 6, 9 and 12 months

A session is one visitor recording period. The monthly allowance is shared across all websites in your plan and refreshes every month. If you use it up, tracking pauses until the next monthly refill.

Setting up

You create an account, add your website and copy the tracking script into your site. UserTrail then starts collecting data for the pages you track. The documentation has install guides, for example for Shopify, Adobe Commerce and Instapage. The tool avoids passwords, payments and private inputs automatically, and you can hide pages or elements.

Refund policy and billing

Annual plans include a risk-free 14-day guarantee for first-time annual subscribers. If UserTrail is not the right fit, contact the team within 14 days of signing up and the annual plan is refunded in full. Payments, invoices and fraud checks run through Stripe. Billing and subscription questions go to [email protected], or you can use the contact form.

Privacy for your visitors

If you track visitors, the terms say that you are typically the controller of that data and must decide the lawful basis. Depending on the country and your set-up, this may require consent, especially where cookies are used for non-essential analytics. Subscribers who process personal data from their visitors also accept the UserTrail data processing agreement.

Cashback with UserTrail

Open the UserTrail page at daily cashback and press the shop button. Then sign up and subscribe in the same visit. The current cashback rate (10%) is shown on that page. In your free account the amount shows as open and turns confirmed once UserTrail has reported the purchase. A refunded subscription is deducted. Current offers are listed on the shop page, and we check them every day. A code from another site can cost you the cashback.

As of October 2026.
