Unidata pocket WiFi: delivery, data plans, the 30-day refund and cashback
Unidata sells the U30, a pocket WiFi that you carry with you and use abroad. Instead of a physical SIM it relies on what the company calls CloudSIM: the device connects to local networks through a bank of local SIM cards, and you pick a data plan for the country you are in. That makes this more a service than a normal shop, so the points that matter are where the plans work, how they are activated, what happens if you want your money back and how to get support.
What you actually buy
The U30 is a dedicated hotspot with a 12-hour battery and 4G LTE speed that can power up to 10 devices. The shop lists the device on its home page, and day passes and monthly plans for individual countries, such as France, Germany and Japan, sit next to it. Prices are shown in US dollars. Each data plan is valid for the time it names, there is no contract, and you activate a plan when you need it. The shop says it covers more than 140 countries, with the United States, Japan, Mexico, France, the United Kingdom, China, Spain and Canada among the most popular. Coverage depends on the local networks. Most customers get strong service in cities and populated areas, while remote regions can be weaker.
Using it abroad
You load plans and top up through the Unidata portal at oneunidata.com, which needs an account. If you run out of data, you can top up there at any time. The device has its own touch screen that shows how much data you have used, and the portal shows the same. Because you connect to your own private hotspot, you stay off shared networks in cafés, airports and hotels. The shop advises against using the U30 as a central router for a whole office.

Delivery
Products ship to the address you give at checkout. Delivery times vary, and the shop sends a tracking number once your order has shipped. Which destination countries and shipping methods are available is shown at checkout, so look there before you order for a trip abroad, and ask through the contact page if you have a tight departure date. The shop operates under California law, and Unidata LLC is the contracting company named in the terms.
Refund and warranty
Products are eligible for a full refund within 30 days of purchase, as long as they come back in their original packaging and condition. Shipping costs are not refunded. To start a return, contact the shop through its website. The terms also give a one-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. For a warranty claim you contact Unidata by email, and the device can be repaired or replaced. Damage from misuse, neglect, accident or repairs by anyone else is not covered.
The terms of service also mention 100GB of free data for use in Japan during the first 30 days after you activate your device. You claim it on oneunidata.com after creating an account, and the shop can change or end the offer at any time, so check the page before you rely on it.
Cashback at Unidata
Open the Unidata page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to 2.5%) is listed with the offers we check every day. Press the shop button and order as usual. In your free account the cashback first shows as open and becomes confirmed once the shop has reported the order. If you return the device within the 30 days, the refund is deducted from the cashback.
Practical tips
- Create your portal account and test the device at home before you travel, so a problem shows up while you can still contact support.
- Choose the plan for the country you will be in and check how long it is valid.
- Pause your ad blocker and finish the order in one visit, without codes from other sites.
As of October 2026. Plans and conditions can change, so check the shop before you order.
