Shopping at House of Sneakers: shipping to 40+ countries, returns and cashback
House of Sneakers is a German sneaker shop based in Norden, in the north-west of the country. The site is in German, but the shop says it delivers to more than 40 countries, including all EU countries. If you live outside Germany, these are the points that matter before you order.
Where it ships and what it costs
According to the shop's FAQ, shipping is free of charge with no minimum order value, both inside Germany and to more than 40 other countries. The front page repeats this: free shipping to over 40 countries, with express delivery in 2 to 3 working days where available. The FAQ does not list the countries one by one, so the checkout is the place to confirm that your address is accepted.
Delivery time
From the order date, standard shipping takes 6 to 8 working days and express shipping 2 to 3 working days. As soon as your pair is shipped you receive a tracking number by email. Plan with the longer range if the sneakers are for a date.
Customs, taxes and currency
For deliveries outside the European Union, the terms say that further costs can occur which are the customer's to pay. Examples named there are bank transfer fees, exchange-rate fees and import duties or taxes such as customs. Ask the shop's support before ordering if you are unsure what applies to your country.
Returns
You can return items within 14 days after receipt without giving a reason. The sneakers must be unworn and in the original box, the box must not be damaged and the shoes must show no signs of use. You pay the postage for sending them back. Do not post a parcel on your own: the contact page says returns without prior agreement are not accepted, so write to [email protected] first. The shop's withdrawal notice words the period slightly differently, as two weeks with 31 days in brackets, so confirm the deadline with support when a return is close to the limit.
The terms also state that the statutory right of withdrawal does not apply to consumers who live outside the EU and have a delivery address outside the EU.
