EMP Italy: delivery, payment, free returns and cashback
EMP sells band and film merchandise, video game and series merch and alternative clothing. The shop at emp-online.it is the Italian store of the group, run by EMP Mailorder Italia S.r.l., and the group points visitors from other countries to its separate local shops. This guide explains what the Italian store says about delivery, return and payment, so you know the rules before you fill a basket.
Delivery within Italy
The shipping FAQ says you can send an order to any address on Italian national territory. The shop describes delivery within Italy only, so it suits an Italian delivery address. Orders go out with the courier DHL, and you also get tracking details from the carrier. Delivery normally takes 5 to 6 working days, and the status shows under Orders in your customer account if you registered.

Shipping costs by payment method
The shop ties the shipping price to the way you pay. If you choose credit card, bank transfer or PayPal, shipping costs 5.99 euro. Paying in cash on delivery costs 8.99 euro for shipping, which includes 3 euro of fixed cash on delivery charge. Product prices on the site include VAT, while shipping is added on top. The shop says it ships each order straight away, so you cannot combine two orders into one parcel.
Payment methods
The payment page lists these options:
- Credit card (Visa, Mastercard or PostePay), charged straight away.
- PayPal, charged immediately after you confirm.
- Bank transfer in advance. The bank details are a German IBAN, so it is a SEPA transfer, and the shop mentions 2 to 3 working days for the money to arrive.
- Cash on delivery, paid in cash to the driver, who may not have change.
- Klarna, either as an instant bank transfer or in three instalments, the first at once and the others after 30 and 60 days.
You cannot change the payment method after the order is placed.
Returns and refunds
You have 30 days from receiving the goods to return them. Members of the Backstage Club have 100 days. Start the return in the returns portal in your customer account with your order number and the delivery postcode, put the return form in the parcel, stick on the label you print and take it to a Poste Italiane branch. The postage is covered by the shop. EMP does not exchange items, it only refunds, and the money goes back to the payment method you used. For bank transfer and cash on delivery orders you must supply an IBAN of a real bank account, and a PostePay Evolution IBAN is not accepted. The shop says the wait for a refund is usually 7 to 10 days, since it depends on handling at the head office. A damaged or wrong item can also be returned free through the portal. An item sent back dirty or tampered with is returned to you at your expense.
Cashback with EMP
Open the EMP page at daily cashback, where the current cashback (up to 3.5%) is shown. Press the shop button and order as usual. Your free account lists the cashback as open first, and as confirmed once EMP has reported the order. A refunded item is deducted from the amount. A code from another site can cost you the cashback, so close other cashback and voucher pages while you shop.
Useful to know
- Customer service works Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 15:00 and 16:00 to 17:30, except holidays.
- Orders cannot be changed once processed, except bank transfer orders.
- Give a phone number and email so the courier can reach you.
