Shopping at AfricanFabs: shipping rates by country, returns and cashback

AfricanFabs is a Dutch web shop from Edam, near Amsterdam, selling African wax print and Kente fabrics, headwraps, hair bonnets, bags and accessories. The German-language shop at africanfabs.de ships worldwide, with a clear price list per country. Here is how the shipping, the return rules and the payment options work, based on the shop's own pages.

The shop states that it sends to every country in the world. Belgium appears in two rows of the list, so look at the shipping line in your cart before you pay.

How long it takes

Orders are packed within one to two working days and travel with track and trace. Estimated transit is 2 to 4 working days to Germany (Deutsche Post or Hermes) and to Austria, and 3 to 5 working days to Switzerland. These are averages, not guarantees, and peak times such as Black Friday can add delays. For an urgent order the shop asks you to contact it first by WhatsApp or email.

Customs outside the EU

For orders from outside the EU, import duties and taxes can apply. The buyer is responsible for them, and the shop does not answer for customs delays.

Returns

Most products can go back within 14 days of delivery. Contact the shop within those 14 days and use the return form on its withdrawal page. After approval you get return instructions by email, and the parcel has to reach the shop within 14 days of those instructions. The return shipping is your cost, and for returns from outside the EU you also pay customs, which is deducted from the refund. After the shop has received and checked the parcel it refunds the purchase amount within 5 working days to the original payment method.

Some items are excluded. Face masks, sponges, earrings and cosmetics cannot be returned for hygiene reasons. Fabrics can go back only if they still have the original length of 6 yards (5.48 m) and the original stickers, and fabric cut to your length is not returnable. Hoodies and T-shirts printed to order are excluded too. If a fabric has a print or material defect, tell the shop within 7 days.

Payment

The shop accepts PayPal, Klarna (invoice payable within 30 days), credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Amex), Sofort, iDEAL, Bancontact, eps and Belfius. Sofort takes about two working days to be confirmed before your order is processed.

Using cashback

Open the AfricanFabs page at daily cashback, where the current rate (5%) and the offers we check every day are listed. Press the shop button, then fill your basket and pay as usual. In your free account the cashback appears as open and becomes confirmed once AfricanFabs has reported the order, normally after the return period. A returned item reduces the cashback for that item.

Practical tips

  • Fabrics sold by the yard are cut for you, so double-check the length before you order, as cut pieces cannot be returned.
  • To reach free shipping in Germany or Austria you need 75 EUR, for Switzerland 120 EUR, so a small basket is often cheaper to combine into one order.
  • If you cancel before dispatch, use the cancel button in your customer account, which the shop calls the fastest route.
