Rocket Languages vs Babbel: Which Language Course Is Better?
Rocket Languages vs Babbel: Which Language Course Is Better? That depends on how you like to pay and which language you want. Our recommendation is Rocket Languages: you buy a course once and keep access for life, a 60-day money-back guarantee is written on its refund page, and it has a shop page with us. Babbel is a subscription that renews automatically. Prices and offers change, status October 2026.
Cashback at Rocket Languages and Babbel
Rocket Languages is listed at daily cashback. On Rocket Languages at daily cashback you find the rate in force today and the terms. Babbel is not on our list, so a Babbel purchase earns no cashback from us. This says nothing against the app. It only describes what we can offer.
How a Rocket Languages purchase with cashback runs
Order via the shop page, with the ad blocker switched off, and finish the order in one go without stopping at other price sites. You pay what the shop charges anyway. Your free account lists the purchase as open at first.
Cashback is confirmed once the shop has approved the order. The shop page names the period. A refund request means you lose the cashback on that order, so use the free trial first and decide afterwards.
How you pay
Rocket Languages sells courses per language, either as a one-time purchase or on a six-month payment plan. After the last payment of a plan you have full lifetime access. Rocket also states that you can come back after a month, a year or a decade and still use the course, including later updates.
Babbel works as a subscription. Its terms say that a paid order runs for the term you chose and then renews automatically and indefinitely, unless you end it. For paid services other than live classes the notice must reach Babbel at least 48 hours before the term ends. The same terms also describe a lifetime license for paid services.
Trying it first
Rocket Languages offers a free trial of its courses, and its Spanish page adds that no credit card is required. Babbel lets you sign up for free and try the first lesson of every course. Depending on the language, up to 80 lessons are free. After that you need a subscription.
Refund and withdrawal
Rocket Languages gives a 60-day full money-back guarantee on any purchase, with no questions asked. You write to support with your receipt number, the team processes the refund within two working days and it can take up to five working days to show on your statement. On a payment plan the 60 days count from the first payment. Purchases through the iOS app are refunded at the discretion of Apple, typically within 14 days.
Babbel points to the statutory right of withdrawal in its terms: 14 days from the conclusion of the contract, without giving a reason, by informing Babbel. Orders placed through an app store follow that store's rules instead.
Languages
Rocket Languages lists fourteen courses: Spanish, French, Italian, German, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Portuguese, American Sign Language, English and Inglés for Spanish speakers. Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Mandarin come with three levels each.
Babbel lists Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Danish, Dutch, Indonesian, Norwegian, Polish, Swedish and Turkish, with courses from beginner to advanced. If you want Dutch, Polish, Swedish or Turkish, Babbel is the one that names them.

Who should pick what
Rocket Languages suits you if you want one course for one language, pay once and come back whenever you like. The cashback via our shop page makes sense here because the purchase is a single order.
Babbel suits you if your language is on its list but not on Rocket's, for example Dutch, Polish or Swedish, or if you prefer a subscription you can end. Then you buy without cashback from us.
Do not decide on the headline price alone. Compare what you pay in total for the time you really study, and see which refund rule you are comfortable with.
What we recommend
We recommend Rocket Languages for most learners of its fourteen languages: lifetime access instead of a renewing term, a clear 60-day money-back guarantee and a shop page with cashback. Babbel is a good answer if you need one of its other languages.
- Cashback exists for Rocket Languages, not for Babbel.
- Use the free trial before you buy.
- Refunded orders pay out no cashback.
- Check on Babbel that you cancel at least 48 hours before the term ends.
