Kiwi.com vs Skyscanner: Where Can I Fly for Less?
Kiwi.com vs Skyscanner: which is cheaper, and where do you get money back? On price, route and date decide. On cashback the answer is clear: Kiwi.com has a shop page at daily cashback, Skyscanner has none. That makes Kiwi.com our recommendation if you want to pick up cashback. This text shows what the path looks like, when the money is confirmed and which traps await with combined flights and discount codes. Status: October 2026.
Where cashback exists
Our Kiwi.com shop page shows the current rate. For Skyscanner there is no shop page in any edition we checked. Anyone buying there gets nothing back from us.

What is different at Kiwi.com
Kiwi.com often assembles trips from single tickets that no airline offers together. On our shop page the advice is to leave plenty of time for connections on self-connected flights and to find out whether your baggage is checked through. Hotels and rental cars can also be added to the tickets. Whatever you buy at Kiwi.com in one go runs as one order.
On Skyscanner you buy from a partner that Skyscanner merely displays. Their rules apply to you, and they alone handle questions about the booking.
How to proceed
- Sign in at daily cashback and open the Kiwi.com shop page.
- Go from there to Kiwi.com and search for your flight.
- At the last step, do not enter a discount code that is not listed on the shop page.
- Buy in one session, without visiting other price or voucher sites in between.
Tracking works only if a click from our page came shortly before the order, cookies are active and no discount site was visited afterwards. If any of these is missing, Kiwi.com cannot link the order to your account.
Discount codes and vouchers
Kiwi.com lets you enter a promo code at the last step before payment. Promotional codes not named on our shop page can affect cashback eligibility. In addition, cashback is calculated on the net value after vouchers are deducted, excluding taxes. Whoever uses a code has to do two sums: what does the code save, and what is left of the cashback? Without a code it is simplest.
When it is confirmed
After the order your entry shows as pending in your account. Once Kiwi.com confirms the booking, the cashback can be paid out as the offer terms describe. Under our terms only what the shop keeps counts.
Cancellation, refunds and cashback
Cashback is only confirmed for orders the shop keeps. If an order is cancelled, refunded or charged back, the cashback may be declined or reversed. At Kiwi.com that means: cancel your ticket and you generally lose the cashback. That holds even if, under the ticket type, you only get part of the price back.
That is why the three Kiwi.com ticket types deserve a look before you buy. The cheapest one, Saver, allows no rebooking. With Standard and Flexi you can alter the trip once and pay only the difference. Only Flexi returns a large share of the airfare on cancellation, with Kiwi.com's own fees left out. Anyone sure to fly needs none of this. Anyone wavering loses the cashback along with the ticket.
Planning combined flights
Because Kiwi.com links separate tickets, you carry more responsibility than with a through ticket. According to its help you often have to collect your bags at the transfer airport, check them in again and pass security and customs, and where needed immigration too. Whether you need a visa for that depends on your nationality and the transit country. Leave generous time and do not book same-day flights too tightly. That spares you the trouble of a missed connection, which usually costs more than any cashback could bring in.
Cashback at a glance
| Question | Kiwi.com | Skyscanner |
|---|---|---|
| Shop page with us | yes | no |
| Seller | Kiwi.com itself | partner behind the redirect |
| Entry in your account | pending first, confirmed later | none |
| Cancellation or refund | cashback falls away | not applicable |
| Promo code | listed codes only, otherwise risk | not applicable |
| Self-connected flights | possible, plan the transfer yourself | labelled Self-transfer |
What we recommend
Skyscanner is good for watching prices, since the month view and the price alerts exist for that. Buy through the Kiwi.com shop page if cashback matters to you and a self-connected trip is fine for you. If a tight transfer worries you, a direct flight from the seller without cashback is often the calmer choice.
