Kiwi.com vs momondo: Book Flights With Cashback?

· 2026-09-27

Kiwi.com vs momondo: for cashback on a flight, book through Kiwi.com, because only Kiwi.com has a shop page with us. momondo is a travel search engine, says it does not sell tickets itself and is not one of our shops. So you can look around on momondo and book on Kiwi.com, as long as the purchase starts from our shop page. Flight prices change from day to day, and no winner on price is named. Status October 2026.

Cashback: our shop

Kiwi.com is listed here: Kiwi.com at daily cashback. The rate that applies today is printed on that page before booking. momondo is not one of our shops. It sends you on to a provider, and the contract is made there. Whether cashback arises depends on who the provider is and how you got to them.

Booking a flight on Kiwi.com with cashback

  1. Search your route on momondo or wherever you like. Note date, route and the total.
  2. Open the Kiwi.com shop page with us. Ad blocker off, other voucher or comparison windows closed.
  3. Continue to the provider and type in the same route again.
  4. Choose the ticket type and extras and pay in the same session.
  5. Your free account lists the entry as pending, and the shop confirms it when the trip counts as completed.

If you go from momondo straight to Kiwi.com, the booking did not start with us. Then no pending entry appears. Starting again from the shop page takes two minutes.

When cashback is lost

  • You cancel or have the booking refunded. Kiwi.com deals with it under refunds and cancellations in your account, and the cashback of that order is lost.
  • You do not fly and do not cancel beforehand. Kiwi.com writes that an unused flight is not refunded without prior cancellation, and we pay for trips that took place.
  • You click an offer on momondo and book through that target without going via our shop page.
  • The ad blocker swallowed the click.
  • A code from another site replaces the shop page's tracking.

Compared briefly

Roles. momondo describes itself as a metasearch for flights, hotels, car hire and packages that works without a booking fee. One click takes you to the site where the booking is finished, and for questions about the booking you turn to that provider. Kiwi.com is the one selling: its help page says it books with the airlines for you and manages the reservation.

Prices after the click. momondo itself points out that prices can change after the redirect, for instance because the currency differs. Kiwi.com shows baggage and extras in the steps ahead of payment.

Combinations. Kiwi.com says its search also puts separate flights together when that is cheaper than an airline connection. On top come protection options for disruptions and an online check-in for all flights of the trip.

Changing and cancelling. At booking you choose between Saver, Standard and Flexi. A Saver ticket stays as it is; Standard and Flexi allow one change where only the difference is paid. Cancelling or changing is possible up to 48 hours before the trip starts. According to Kiwi.com there is no free grace period after purchase. On momondo, changes depend on the provider you booked with.

Caution with calls. On its help page momondo warns about people who pose as momondo by phone, WhatsApp or mail, offer a booking and want card details or a bank transfer. Those contacts do not come from momondo. Anyone who receives such a message hands over no payment data. You pay only on the site of the provider you chose yourself, in our case after the click to Kiwi.com.

Tools. momondo offers price alerts, a multi-city search and a search by destination. Kiwi.com adds an app and price alerts.

Who should pick what

Cashback on the flight is what you are after: Kiwi.com through the shop page. momondo stays your window for looking around.

You want to see many providers for a route: momondo shows the field. If you pick Kiwi.com, start the purchase with us.

You need room for changes: compare the three ticket types at Kiwi.com before paying. A cancelled flight brings no cashback.

You fly with checked baggage: set the filter on momondo and read the baggage lines at Kiwi.com, so both offers cover the same luggage.

Our recommendation

We would book the flight through Kiwi.com when cashback counts, and use momondo as a second look at the price range. Enter the same data on both and compare only the amount you would pay in the end.
