Ordering from Stumptown Coffee Roasters: shipping, countries, returns and cashback
Stumptown Coffee Roasters is a US specialty roaster that sells whole bean coffee, cold brew and brewing gear online. The shop ships to more than one country, and its return rules are different from most online shops because coffee is perishable. Here is what to know before you check out.
Shipping and delivery countries
The shop advertises free shipping on all orders over $45, and the cart shows how far you are from that line. The shop's shipping settings list four destinations: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Japan. Shipping rates for orders below the free threshold are calculated at checkout once you enter an address, so the cart is the place to see the exact price for your country.
If you order from outside the US, ask Stumptown customer service by email before you pay whether import duties or local taxes can come on top. The shop's terms say a confirmation email does not by itself mean the order has been accepted, so wait for the shipping notice before you count on a date.
Returns and refunds
Coffee cannot be sent back because it is perishable. If something is wrong with your coffee or the order contains a mistake, contact Stumptown within 30 days of receiving it. Gear is treated differently. Defective or unused gear can be returned or exchanged within 30 days of purchase, but used gear that still works is not accepted. The shop does not offer exchanges on gear, but a refund can be applied to a future order. The price of shipping is not refunded.
Errors, cancellations and age
If a price or product detail is wrong because of a typing or supplier error, Stumptown reserves the right to cancel the order and refund the amount charged. The website is meant for people aged 18 and over. Younger buyers may only order with the consent of a parent or guardian.

Using cashback
Open the Stumptown page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to $10) and the current offers are listed with the date we last checked them. Press the shop button, then shop and pay as you normally would. In your free account the cashback first shows as open and becomes confirmed once Stumptown has reported the order. If you return an item, its share is deducted.
Practical tips
- A basket just under the $45 shipping line is worth a look. A bag of coffee or a filter pack can be cheaper than the shipping fee you would otherwise pay.
- Gear that you want to keep the option of returning should stay unused until you are sure.
- Finish the order in one visit and switch off your ad blocker on the shop, because it can break the cashback click.
