Breeze eSIM: countries covered, activation, expiry rules, refunds and cashback
Breeze eSIM sells prepaid mobile data for travellers. Nothing is posted to you: the eSIM arrives by email, so the usual shipping questions are replaced by others. Which countries does it cover, which phones work, what happens to unused data and when can you get your money back? Here is what the provider states on its site and in its terms.
Where it works
Breeze says its data plans cover over 190 countries. You choose a single country or a region. Examples on the site are North America (3 countries) and Europe Lite (34 countries), and the most popular destinations include the United States, Canada, Turkey, Japan, Mexico and Spain. A plan is valid in the countries named when you bought it, so check the coverage list before paying. The shop shows prices in US dollars by default, and a currency selector lets you switch to the local currency of many countries, for example EUR, AUD, BRL, CAD or CNY.
Which phones work
Your phone has to be network unlocked and eSIM compatible. According to the shop, all iPhones made since 2018 and most new Android models qualify, and there is a device checker on the site. Dial *#06# on the phone: if an EID code is shown, it supports eSIM. The service is data only. You cannot make regular network calls or send SMS with it, and it does not support emergency calls. WhatsApp, iMessage and other apps still work over the data connection, and you can keep your normal SIM active.
Set up in a few steps
- Connect to Wi-Fi and open the settings for mobile data, then add a data plan.
- Scan the QR code from the email you received after purchase.
- Name the plan and choose data only.
- Switch on mobile data and data roaming for the eSIM, and switch roaming off on your main SIM so it is not billed for voice and text.
The shop sends alerts by email and SMS to the eSIM as your allowance runs low. When it is used up the connection stops, so you cannot be charged beyond what you bought. To add more, connect to Wi-Fi and buy a top-up or a new eSIM. Unlimited plans exist as well.
Validity, cancellation and refunds
You can cancel a plan within 14 days of purchase if you have not activated it. A plan runs from activation until the data is used or the term ends, and any unused data is lost at that point. A plan that is not activated within 6 months of purchase expires without a refund. Breeze also offers a Travel Pass: a 12-month product with a monthly data allowance that renews every calendar month. Use of the service is meant for short-term travel and is limited to 60 consecutive days in any one country.

Cashback on your purchase
Open the Breeze eSIM page at daily cashback, where the current cashback (10%) is shown. Press the shop button and buy as usual. In your free account the cashback shows as open and turns confirmed once Breeze has reported the order. If a plan is cancelled and refunded, the cashback for it is deducted. Keep other cashback and voucher sites closed while you shop, since a later click can replace the first one.
