Booking Iberostar hotels from abroad: destinations, currency, changes and cashback
Iberostar is a Spanish hotel group with 4- and 5-star beachfront resorts, and its website is built for guests who book from many countries. Since a hotel is not a parcel, the usual questions about shipping do not apply. What matters is where the hotels are, in which currency you pay, how a booking can be changed and what the website says about discounts. We read the FAQ and the site pages on iberostar.com in October 2026. The group can change its conditions at any time, so check the rate you choose before you pay.
Where the hotels are
The website sorts its hotels by continent. In Europe it lists Spain (33 hotels), Greece (2), Portugal (2) and Montenegro (4). In the Americas there are hotels in Mexico (12), the Dominican Republic (7), Brazil (3), Jamaica (3), Aruba (1) and the USA (2). In Africa the list shows Tunisia (7), Morocco (3) and Zanzibar (1). The group describes its resorts as beachfront hotels in places such as Mallorca, the Canary Islands, Andalusia and Crete. The counts are the ones shown on the site when we looked and change when hotels are added or removed.
Language and currency
The site is available in Spanish, English, German, French, Italian and Portuguese. You can switch the currency in the header; the list we saw offers USD, BRL, MXN, EUR, CAD, GBP, CHF and CLP. How the payment works depends on when you pay. If you pay for the booking now, Iberostar charges the price in the currency you picked. If you decide to pay at the hotel, the payment is made in the local currency, and the price on screen is only a guide. The site itself points out that exchange rates move daily and that your bank may charge a commission.
Booking, changes and cancellation
Iberostar says you can modify or cancel a booking online or by calling customer service. With an account on iberostar.com you find it under My bookings, without one you use Manage bookings in the main menu. The FAQ does not give one general cancellation deadline, so the terms of the specific rate you pick are what counts. Read them before you confirm, in particular if you are offered a cheaper rate.
Check-in is after 15:00 and check-out before 12:00, with small differences between destinations. Early check-in and late check-out can be requested, depending on availability and for a possible charge. The room-choice tool, where you pick floor and view, becomes available once the booking is made and carries an extra charge. If a search shows no availability, the FAQ names three usual reasons: the hotel is full, the party is bigger than the maximum occupancy of a room, or the hotel requires a minimum number of nights.
Offers and the price guarantee
Iberostar promises the Best Online Price for bookings on its own website. If you find the same stay cheaper elsewhere, it applies an additional 5% discount to the price you found. A promotional code goes into the code field at the start of the booking. It only applies to accommodation and board, only one code works per booking, and it cannot be combined with other offers. The site also advertises a Prepaid Rate with an extra discount, and in some hotels children stay free; the conditions are on the offer page.

Using cashback
Start on the Iberostar page at daily cashback. There you see the current rate (3.5%) and the offers we found, each with the date we last checked it. Use the button on that page to go to Iberostar and book as you normally would. The cashback first appears as open in your free account and turns confirmed once Iberostar has reported the stay. If a booking is cancelled, the cashback for it is removed.
Practical tips
- Decide first whether you want to pay now or at the hotel, because that sets the currency in which your card is charged.
- Do not mix a promotional code from another site with your cashback booking without reading the code's conditions, as a code can end the tracking.
- Book in one go and without an ad blocker running on the hotel site.
- Pets are only allowed in two Mallorca hotels, Iberostar Waves Ciudad Blanca and Iberostar Selection Albufera Park, for an extra fee.
