Booking hotels at LateRooms: payment, currency, cancellation and cashback
LateRooms is a UK hotel booking site that started in 1999 as an on-the-day service for unsold rooms and now sells stays for tonight, tomorrow or up to a year ahead. It is part of the Snaptrip Group. A hotel site has no parcel to ship, so the questions that matter are different: who you actually book with, how payment and receipts work, which currency applies, and what to check before a stay is confirmed.
Who you book with
According to its terms, LateRooms acts as a booking agent and marketing platform for accommodation providers, including hotels, vacation rentals and apartments. It also works with online travel agents and other partners, and the terms link to the conditions of Expedia Partner Solutions, Booking.com, Hotelbeds and Rate Hawk. That means the rules of your particular stay, for example cancellation or what the room includes, come with the rate you choose, so read the rate details before you pay. LateRooms lists hotels with free cancellation as its own category, and its about page mentions free cancellation options among its selling points.
Which country site and currency
The site offers versions for the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, France, Germany, Italy and Japan. Prices can be displayed in the currency you choose from the selector. The list covers the Australian dollar, British pound, Canadian dollar, euro, Japanese yen, New Zealand dollar, US dollar and more, including Brazilian real, Chinese yuan, Danish krone, Hong Kong dollar, Indian rupee, Indonesian rupiah, Polish zloty, Singapore dollar, South Korean won, Swiss franc, Thai baht, Turkish lira and UAE dirham. Prices are converted to the currency you select, but the currency you pay in may differ based on your reservation, and a service fee may also apply.
Payment, confirmation and receipts
After booking you receive a booking confirmation email. If LateRooms collects the payment itself, you also get a payment receipt, but this receipt is not a VAT invoice. If another party collects the payment, you ask that party directly for the receipt. LateRooms places the reservation on your behalf with the accommodation provider and does not charge VAT on your stay. If you need to reach the support team about an existing booking, the contact page asks for your confirmation or itinerary number first.

Cashback with LateRooms
Open the LateRooms page at daily cashback, where the current rate (2%) and the latest offers are listed. Press the shop button and book as you normally would. In your free account the cashback shows as pending and becomes confirmed once the booking is approved. A cancelled booking cancels the cashback too. Using a code from another site can cost you the cashback.
Tips before you book
- Use the free cancellation category if your plans might change, and check the cancellation terms on the rate itself.
- Select the currency before you compare prices, so you compare like with like.
- Keep your confirmation email, because you need the number for any contact.
- Stay in one browser tab until you have booked, so the cashback click is not replaced.
