Aviasales vs Momondo: Which One Fits You, and Where Is Cashback Paid?
Aviasales vs Momondo: flights earn cashback when you start at Aviasales, our listed flight search, while Momondo is not on the list. Both are search engines that pass you on to an airline or agency for the purchase, so the fare itself is found by comparing. Status October 2026.
Buying a flight with cashback, step by step
- Begin in your daily cashback account, which costs nothing.
- Open Aviasales at daily cashback, check that your browser allows the tracking cashback needs, and press the cashback button.
- Search your route and dates on Aviasales.
- Pick a ticket and press Buy. Aviasales sends you to the seller's website, where you enter passenger details and pay.
- Your purchase appears in your account as pending.
- Once the purchase is verified, the amount becomes payable.
- Keep the itinerary receipt that the seller emails you. It names the seller.
After payment the seller sends the itinerary receipt, which Aviasales says normally arrives within 3 hours. Keep it somewhere safe: it carries the seller's name that you need for refunds, exchanges and any question about your cashback entry.

When cashback does not arrive
- The ticket is refunded or cancelled. Refunded purchases produce no payout.
- A promo code missing from the shop page is applied. Such codes can interfere with eligibility.
- Your browser blocks the tracking, or you start from another site such as Momondo.
- You buy the same ticket later through a different path than the one we saw.
What separates the two
- Aviasales: says it keeps no tickets and charges no commission. Refunds and exchanges are settled with the seller, and whether they are possible depends on the fare and the airline's rules. A filter shows only tickets with baggage, and notifications tell you when a price drops.
- Momondo: says it is not a travel agency and sells no tickets. It is free to use, has no hidden charges, and states that your searches do not change the prices you see and that it uses no cookies to raise them. It also searches hotels and rental cars and offers a price calendar and Anywhere search.
- Who it suits: Aviasales fits you when you have found a fare and want a payout on the purchase. Momondo fits as a second opinion for flexible dates or when you want hotels and cars in the same search.
Momondo's help page also warns about impostors who phone or message people claiming to be momondo and ask for card details or a transfer. Real bookings happen on the seller's site.
Vouchers and the base: what counts
The shop page bases it on the net order value after vouchers and discounts, without taxes. Think of a ticket where the seller applies a listed voucher: the voucher lowers what you pay, and the payout follows that reduced value. A promo code the page does not list can instead put the whole entry at risk, which is the bigger loss.
For flight tickets the current rate sits on the shop page; it moves over time, which is why no number appears in this text. As a flight rate is modest, a clearly better fare from another seller on Momondo usually outweighs it. If the same fare from the same seller shows up on both, buy through our page.
One more point: Momondo's help lists a question on why the currency can differ after the redirect. Compare the amount in the currency your card will be charged in, at the seller's checkout, and not the figure from the search list.
